Cloud Strategy
Every path to the cloud is unique and sophisticated frameworks and best practice approaches help to simplify the journey. Regardless of the cloud provider, we support you in defining the right cloud strategy and anchoring it within the company. In many cases, the development of this strategy requires the involvement of multiple stakeholders within the company to come together as a big whole. Our consultants understand the challenges at the management level and how to align them with the business. The result is a company-wide cloud strategy that addresses all important areas.
For this purpose, we use frameworks such as the Cloud Adaptation Framework, which structures and analyzes complex IT environments into manageable focus areas. Key points are typically internal billing strategies, multicloud paradigms as well as knowledge transfer and enablement.
DevOps und DevSecOps Tooling
Agile development and project approaches require highly automated, secure and consistent mechanisms to test code and move it into production. Existing tools and cloud services need to be combined to build, test and roll out both infrastructures and applications in an automated way.
From various in-house and customer projects, we have developed best practice guides and blueprints to move codes from development to production as efficiently as possible. We help to design applications according to cloud best-practice paradigms while introducing developers to the world of serverless and cloud-native programming.
Landing Zone
A landing zone provides the basic functionalities to set up the AWS accounts ( see also cloud tenants) in an automated and standardized way. Based on customer-specific security standards, existing peripheral systems and other requirements (compliance), highly automated cloud platforms can be set up and operated within a few minutes.
Based on customer feedback, Axians Amanox has developed its own landing zone solution, which, powered by Terraform, provides a cloud-agnostic and modular way to define and roll out cloud tenants completely in "Infrastructur as Code" (IaC). Of course, we also support our customers in integrating AWS' own Landing Zone solution (Control Tower).
Cloud Migrations
The migration to cloud services and the development of cloud-native solutions entail numerous issues. The variety of service offerings, new billing models, modern cloud architectures and adapted operating models are just a few of the challenges that need to be addressed.
Together with AWS, we have developed a standardized approach to make the path to the public cloud as simple as possible. Together with our customers, we develop a suitable approach and handle the implementation or support the customer in doing so. In the process, we always refer to best practices, cloud frameworks and our broad project experience.
Cloud Connectivity and Network
In many cases, cloud workloads are not only used in isolation in a cloud context but must interact with existing systems or other tenants. Thus, network connections to on-premise environments or other public cloud providers are necessary.
Automated establishment and termination of secure connections, and their monitoring and embedding in different APIs, requires specialized knowledge of the different platforms and mechanisms.Since we support customers in building private as well as public cloud solutions, we understand both worlds and how to connect them. Based on automation frameworks like Nutanix Calm or Terraform by HashiCorp, we help our customers to transparently manage the networks and integrate them into the landing zone.
We also partner with Aviatrix, a cloud-agnostic solution to centrally manage and regulate network connections.
Observability
Today's cloud-native applications are often built on microservice architectures to maximize flexibility for extensions and customizations.
Monitoring these infrastructures and application landscapes is complex and very demanding. Active management of microservices dependencies (dependency analytics) becomes the core competence of the observability team to guarantee operational quality. The importance of such deep integration is demonstrated by business-relevant insights that result from cleverly combining application metrics, log and monitoring information.
As a partner of New Relic, Instana and Data Dog, we help you build end-to-end monitoring solutions. In addition, our Cloud Data Scientists understand how to link this "observability data" to develop meaningful statements and forecasts.
Big Data and Analytics
"Data is the new oil, but information is the new gold." Nowadays, every company generates vast amounts of data. A major challenge is to make this often unstructured data accessible via a platform (data lake). Furthermore, it is important to use this data in a meaningful and considered way.
We have taken on these challenges and, together with AWS, have developed various approaches to prepare data in an automated (semi-supervised) manner and to extract valuable information. In addition, we help to identify potential business cases, which can be optimized or created through appropriate data analysis.
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Terms like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Data Lake (DL) are on everyone's lips and easily accessible through cloud offerings. One of the main difficulties is to find out for which purposes and use cases these technologies generate real added value.
Ohne Spezialistenwissen und Erfahrungswerte ist es sehr herausfordernd, die richtigen Services auszuwählen, um möglichst gute Vorhersagen und Ergebnisse zu erreichen. Without specialist knowledge and empirical values, it is very challenging to select the right services to achieve the best possible predictions and results. We have developed a modular guide to assess the potential of these technologies in the context of the respective business case, to provide appropriate know-how and to support implementation.
Cloud Security
What data may be stored in the cloud? How can the data be stored and transferred in encrypted form? How should which service be secured? How do you develop secure cloud-native applications? What are the best practices for identity and access management?
Security and public cloud go hand in hand. Our certified security experts help answer the above questions to establish a secure approach across the enterprise. We also support the integration of proactive and reactive processes to automatically enforce security policies. Furthermore, we have developed frameworks and guidelines from various project work in a wide range of industries, which show what needs to be observed in order to seamlessly implement "Security Shared Responsibility" models.
Container Platform
Container platforms are the foundation for many modern application landscapes. It is essential for developers, architects, and operations teams to gain a deep understanding of how to design, build, and operate such container orchestration environments.
AWS offers a variety of ways to efficiently orchestrate containers and combine them with other private or public cloud services where appropriate. It is also important that processes such as building container images and deploying them are automated and integrated into the CI/CD pipeline. Based on customer requirements, we help to design and build the optimal platform. We also provide customized training materials and blueprints to ensure that the people involved can quickly build up a knowledge base around container management.
Blockchain
Blockchain represents new technologies that help to implement complex business cases quickly and sustainably. Together with AWS and other partners, we have organized various meetups and hackathons in the past to identify potential business ideas and bring them to market maturity in the shortest possible time.
Our experience shows that with the help of cloud services, complex technologies such as blockchain can be easily accessed and used to implement modern applications. As with other cutting-edge technologies, we have developed a starter kit to facilitate entry into this topic.
